‘I’ve Got My Mind Set On You’ by James Ray is my new jam.
It’s been five months since my last post?!? The last few months have been particularly busy, both with work and composition and this blog has sadly been pushed to one side. No more however!
So what has happened with my music and such over the last five months? Well quite a lot (thankfully)! I was delighted to have two pieces performed; one of which was premiered in my hometown of Swansea with the incredible Gorseinon Youth Choir. It was a terrific feeling to not only have my piece performed as part of the Dunvant Male Choir’s annual Christmas concert but to also have it performed to a packed St. Mary’s Church. The reception was phenomenal and was extremely proud of the performance. Look forward to seeing that posted on this blog around Christmas time!
The second piece performed was an arrangement of the beautiful Welsh love song Tra Bo Dau. The piece was performed in Bristol by Polly Johnson as part of her final year recital in my old haunt, the University’s Victoria Rooms. Polly’s performance of the piece was truly stunning and I’ll be posting that song on my Youtube channel later in the week; but you can check it out now on my SoundCloud channel (here). Rumour has it that it has also had an outing in the Royal Welsh College and I’m hoping that a recording will be made of that soon too!
In the mean time, enjoy this ridiculous but funny video of a ‘horse’ playing Sibelius…
